Hike all day until you are sore, and soak in the hot tub afterwards or check out a stack of good books from the library and go up there to read all weekend by yourself. Why come to the mountains if it's just like a hotel? The staff was ready to provide anything we needed, but most of what you need is already in place an environment you can build great memories around. And the trail leading up the hill out back goes for miles, taking you places that make you forget you are in a tourist town which, as far as I'm concerned, is the very best attribute of Pine Haven. There is everything you need, nothing you don't, and a few things you didn't know you needed, such as games in the cabinet.just like my uncle's cabin. Yet unlike my uncle's cabin, this one was very clean, had a DVD player, two bathrooms and hot water, not to mention a hot tub. Here the fireplace burns real wood, the kitchen is crowded and much of what you see was here in the 50's.which is perfect, as I remember spending summers at my uncle's old lake cabin in Minnesota, with its stone fireplace and hardwood floors. If you are into high-end pseudo-lodges that provide a high-dollar facsimile of a "traditional" mountain resort, then these cabins probably are not for you. Pine Haven is wonderful and I promise you will be happy with everything!! So you can drive around for a while then leave and come back. My 6 and 7 year old caught trout.real trout! The cabins are 5 minutes or less from the entrance of RMNP. My 18 month old would sit on the ground and feed little chipmunks for hours. The best part are the chipmunks that come up to you for peanuts. George thought of everything.hanging flower baskets on every cabin, cedar chairs and swings everywhere you needed to sit and relax, picnic tables, fire pits for smores, rocking chairs on cabin porches, cotton candy party for the guests, ball games, on and on. The place had a playground for the kids and a playhouse equipped with dishes, stove, play vegetables, and kids books! Mr. All we had to buy was food at the Safeway which is 5 minutes from the place. My children are 6,7, and 18 months and they all had a blast! The rooms were clean with all the amenities for cooking. If you are from Texas and visit the Hill Country this place is the New Braunfels of Colorado. ![]()
